His is one of the most recognizable faces in television history. From 1957 to 1963, he portrayed older brother Wally Cleaver on the hit show, “Leave it to Beaver.”

But Tony Dow has never been content to just let his past define him. He’s spent his career stepping out of his comfort zone to try new things.

For nearly 20 years, he directed TV shows, including the hit show “Coach,” but once he reached the age of 60, he said he realized it was finally time to pursue one of his lifelong passions — sculpting.

In 2008, at the age of 63, Tony was one of two artists chosen to represent America at an international art festival (that dates back to the 1800s) at the Louvre in Paris, France.

He says it was a great thrill to display his art at such a venerated museum.

Tony tells Growing Bolder whether he sees himself ever returning to television and why he’s fighting so hard to change the stigma surrounding turning 60.
