Could you live hundreds of mile from your nearest neighbor out in the wilds of Alaska? Would you?

That’s exactly what Sue Aikens does.

She owns and operates the Kavik River Camp, a base for hunting groups. For the last 11 years, she’s lived 500 miles from the nearest city and 80 miles from the nearest road.

Winter in that location is about one thing and one thing only — survival. She’s featured on the new TV show called “Life Below Zero” on the National Geographic Channel.

She checks in with the Growing Bolder Radio Show from her home, which is 197 miles north of the Arctic Circle, to share her stories, including her near-death experience with a grizzly bear and why she’s always ready for her next adventure.

Click here to visit kavikrivercamp.com to learn more about Sue’s camp.
