You’ve seen Andrea Beaman on shows like “The View,” “CBS News” and on the first season of Bravo’s hit show, “Top Chef.” She’s passionate about eating right and preparing foods as close to their natural state as possible. But she didn’t always eat like that.

Andrea says once upon a time, if it didn’t come out of a box, she didn’t eat it. But then she was diagnosed with a supposedly uncurable condition, thyroid disease. She says by dramatically changing her lifestyle to incorporate more fruits, vegetables and whole grains, she was able to “heal” herself.

She writes about it in her new book, “The Whole Truth: How I Naturally Reclaimed My Health and You Can Too.” She says now more than ever she believes in the old saying, “you are what you eat.” With the overwhelming number of processed foods out there, she says it’s crucial for your own well-being to wise up and start eating better.

Andrea offers tips for healthier ways to boost your energy and explains if organic foods are really worth the extra money.

Plus, all you “Top Chef” fans won’t want to miss her inside scoop on the chef everyone loved to hate last season, Stefan.
