We’re about to show you a first-of-its-kind project involving at-risk boys and girls and members of of a major metro area’s police SWAT team.

The two groups have volunteered for something most have never heard of — racing a dragon boat.

The teens are getting the opportunity to experience something entirely new and learn to overcome fears and stereotypes, particularly about law enforcement officials. And the SWAT team members are getting to know the children in a fun, nurturing environment and show the kids they’re not “the bad guys.”

Can the two groups work together to move a 600-pound boat across the water? Will there be enough time for the Dueling Dragons to form a true team that’s ready to compete? Come roar with this team that’s teaching us all about the value of working together.
