Carol has been a big part the songs and sounds of some of the greatest performers in music history, including Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Sam Cooke, The Supremes, Sonny and Cher and the Beach Boys … just for starters.

The First Lady of Bass joins us on the Growing Bolder Radio Show to discuss her legendary career, some of the great musicians she’s played with and how she made the transition from a guitar player to bass player.

As she nears 80, Carol explains how music keeps you young. She also discusses why she thinks it’s actually harder for female rockers and musicians today than it was for her in the ’60s and ’70s. She shares the advice she gives to today’s young musicians.
