Laura Ingalls’ teacher Miss Beadle on Little House on the Prairie was the teacher we all wished we had. She was kind, wholesome and had an unfailing moral compass. It turns out that was quite an acting job for her portrayer Charlotte Stewart! In her new autobiography, Charlotte rips the petticoats off her “good girl” image and reveals that in her real life, things weren’t so G-rated.

The book is called Little House in the Hollywood Hills: A Bad Girl’s Guide to Finding Miss Beadle, Mary X, and Me. Charlotte joins the Growing Bolder Radio Show to tell us her real-life “bad girl” stories, including tales about her wild life in Hollywood in the 1960s and ’70s. One story in particular that you’ll find fascinating is her retelling of a four-day road trip with her good friend Jim Morrison.

She explains how she recovered from her heavy drug and alcohol abuse to find sobriety and what she learned along the way. Charlotte also shares what she learned in her battle against breast cancer.
