When Chuck Freuler hit 50, he felt that big kick in the pants to get off the couch and get active. 

At the age of 50, he started running. And before too long, he’d discovered the sport of triathlon.  

Since then, he’s done more than 150 triathlons! 

Now 85, Chuck is ranked as one of fastest competitors in the country in his age group. He tells us he first started racing in triathlons because he thought he was more competitive in that sport than running. 

He explains how once upon a time, he was a typical salesman, who ate a steak dinner at 9 p.m. and drank too much. But then he started noticing his counterparts were having heart attacks and having alcohol problems.

One day, he he read an article in Reader’s Digest about the Canadian military’s fitness program, so he started to follow it. It changed his life forever. 

Chuck explains what an active lifestyle has done for him over the past 35 years and why it’s so important to stick with it. He shares stories from when he was first starting to show how fitness is always evolving.
