He is, without a doubt, one of the most beloved stars in entertainment history. From his hit TV roles to his iconic characters in movies like Mary Poppins, Dick Van Dyke has been part of the very fabric of our lives for nearly six decades.

The Tony Award and five-time EMMY Award winer has just written his fifth book called Keep Moving And Other Tips and Truths About Aging, an instruction book for approaching old age with a positive attitude.

As he prepares to celebrate his 90th birthday, he talks to Growing Bolder about his daily workout habits and why it’s something he wants everyone at any age to do. He explains the life-changing benefits of movement and why it’s something we can pick up at any time, at any age.

Van Dyke explains why it’s so important to change the negative attitudes on aging and how he hopes to inspire younger people to not fear aging. He also describes how he’s kept certain childlike qualities throughout his life and why he hopes others will learn to embrace their wonder of life.

Plus, for a man who never learned to dance until his 30s, he describes the huge role dancing still plays in his life, even though he’s had arthritis for nearly 50 years. And did you know one of his hobbies is creating 3-D animated movies? Find out why learning new things and a curiosity about life keeps him excited.
