Don’t you wish you had a doctor in the family who you could turn to to get the kind of advice that you could trust? Dr. Robin Miller is that someone and she says she wrote her book, “The Smart Woman’s Guide to Midlife and Beyond,” to help anyone confused by the overabundance of health information out there.

Dr. Miller says the Internet has only added to the confusion many women find when it comes to treatment of things like menopause, breast cancer and fibromyalgia. Her book is written in the tone of a concerned cousin and deals with issues such as hormone therapy, focusing on who should use it and who should avoid it.

She even delves into the world of alternative medicine. She says things like vitamins, herbs and acupuncture have a place in today’s medicine and they are avenues we need to take advantage of.

Bottom line, she says it’s up to each of us to be our own best advocate.
