At the age of 92, Ernest Borgnine is not only still acting, he’s setting a precedent for all of us to follow. His recent appearance on the season finale of “ER” underscored the fact that even in your 90s it’s still possible to be vibrant, valuable and relevant.

He’s also become a favorite of youngsters everywhere thanks to his recurring role in the Nickelodeon animated series, “SpongeBob Squarepants.”

Borgnine’s career didn’t begin until he returned from serving 10 years in the Navy. He debuted on Broadway in 1949 and got a breakout role in the 1953 blockbuster movie, “From Here To Eternity.” He made countless movies and even won an Academy Award as best actor for his starring role in “Marty” in 1955. But it was television that gave him his greatest success when in 1963 he played the role of Lieutenant Commander Quinton McHale in the series “McHale’s Navy.”

Borgnine continues to find roles because of his energy, his passion and his professionalism. He is proof that it’s not about age, it’s about attitude.
