Beginning on January 5, 2014, Central Florida television viewers will see some of their favorite faces in one place: WKMG Local 6. Skip Valet, Vice President and General Manager, announces the addition of “Growing Bolder” to the CBS affiliate’s Sunday morning lineup and says it’s the right show at the right time.
“Growing Bolder is about the power of a positive attitude, and the stories shine the spotlight on ordinary people living extraordinary lives,” says Valet. “It’s the inspirational, motivational stories that our community deserves, told by some of the most well-known and beloved names in Central Florida television history.”
The debut also expands on the partnership that Bolder Broadcasting, Inc., producers of “Growing Bolder,” launched with WKMG in 2012 through its award-winning “Surviving & Thriving” project, which highlights the stories of people who overcome incredible obstacles and serve as role models for all.
After a successful three-year run on more than 500 public broadcasting stations, “Growing Bolder” is moving to commercial television and after only 60 days is already distributed across America to more than 100 million homes. Bolder Broadcasting CEO Marc Middleton is pleased that WKMG will become Growing Bolder’s flagship station.
“We’re asked every day, ‘Where can I watch Growing Bolder in Central Florida?’ and we now have a great answer,” says Middleton. “WKMG has been an incredible partner and values the kind of storytelling that has become our trademark. Local 6 is a great home for ‘Growing Bolder.’”
“Growing Bolder” will air Sunday mornings from 5 to 6 a.m., starting January 5, 2014. It is hosted by Middleton and Bill Shafer and features regular reports from Wendy Chioji and Secily Wilson.
