By the age of 20, Hank Brunjes had taken Broadway by storm. His dance skills put him into some of the biggest shows around and he shared the stage with people like Mickey Rooney and Angela Lansbury.

But then, in what seemed like a blink of an eye, his career was over. Even though he still performed late into his 50s, when the career ended, he didn’t know what he was going to do with the rest of his life.

Hank says he found himself sitting at home and a little depressed. He thought his life was over.

Then, he got a call from a friend urging him to leave New York behind and head West.

After an audition, Hank was reborn. Now, at the age of 78, he’s a member of the world-famous Palm Springs Follies, performing in nearly 200 shows a year.

Hank shares stories from his childhood in Brooklyn and in the 1930s and 1940s and explains how dancing was a part of his life from the time he was born.
