Helen Beauchamp has a lot of numbers to remember. She’s 88 years old, she has 11 grandchildren, more than five world records, and she won gold medals at all five events she entered in the 2007 National Senior Games.

Not only does Beauchamp like to collect, she likes to throw, too. She’s set records in hammer throw, shot put, javelin and discus events.

She talks with Growing Bolder about this past National Senior Games competition and why, at the age of 88, she still likes to compete.
