Brooks Johnson is a 76-year-old Hall of Fame track coach who has coached an athlete at every Olympics since 1968. David Oliver is a 28-year-old superstar destined to become the greatest high hurdler of all time.

Together, Johnson and Oliver are rewriting the record books and proving the power of intergenerational relationships.

Little-Known Fact:

A discus thrower by the name of Al Gore was on Brooks Johnson’s very first team. Johnson says the future Vice President was a joy to coach, “Al Gore was one of the most coachable guys you ever saw. Whatever he had — it was maxed out. He wasn’t the greatest natural athlete but he was extremely coachable.”
