JOC-TV features biographies of practice’s 24 physicians, feature stories, patient testimonials and more

Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic, the 75-year-old practice started by the founding father of orthopaedic care, is once again innovating in its field with the launch of JOC-TV, the first network of its kind at any physicians group in the country.

Now playing in the waiting room of Jewett’s flagship Winter Park office, JOC-TV features video profiles on all of Jewett physicians, giving patients the opportunity to know their doctors in a whole new way. It also features stories about patients who are living more active, healthier and happier lives after being treated at Jewett, updates on Jewett physicians in the community, active lifestyle tips and more.

Bolder Media Group, producers of the nationally syndicated Growing Bolder TV and Radio shows, created the network with the Jewett team. Growing Bolder’s award-winning stories that reinforce the Jewett philosophy of living a healthy, active lifestyle also appear on JOC-TV.

“We are always looking for ways to improve our patient experience, and we decided to start with the moment they enter our front doors. As our patients wait to be seen by our team of physicians, we wanted to give them something that will inspire them and make them excited to return again and again,” says Charles May, Chief Executive Officer at Jewett. “JOC-TV is a gamechanger. It’s a simple, cost-effective and fun way to turn our patients into fans. Bolder Media Group has taken care of everything, from producing the stories to programming and maintaining the network. This project requires no additional staff on our end. We anticipate this will quickly spread to other orthopaedic groups around the nation.”

In May 2011, Jewett Orthopaedic and the Bolder Media Group launched http://community.jewettortho.com, the nation’s first video-driven online platform for a physician group, which integrates with the latest social networking tools, including Jewett’s Facebook and Twitter feeds.

“JOC-TV is inspirational, educational and entertaining,” says Bolder Media Group Founder and CEO Marc Middleton. “We’re able to not only deliver custom content to each Jewett Orthopaedic office, we can change or update the content almost instantaneously via a laptop. We have big plans for the JOC-TV model and we couldn’t ask for a better launch partner than Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic. Together, we are rewriting the rules of patient-doctor communications and we plan to scale this project to other healthcare groups around the country.”

In the coming weeks, JOC-TV will be expanded to Jewett’s seven other offices, including its two walk-in clinics. The network is highly customizeable and will soon be programmed to highlight physicians based on their specialities, such as sports medicine and spine services.
