On Christmas Eve 1955, a group of young sisters made their television debut on “The Lawrence Welk Show.” 

For the next 15 years, the Lennon Sisters would appear again every single week. 

They went on to appear in countless shows and specials around the world, and now, nearly 60 years after that first appearance, they’re still going charming and delighting audiences everywhere. 

Kathy Lennon (pictured left, above) joins us to tell us how the sisters got their start in their hometown and how they got their big break thanks to Lawrence Welk being home sick one day.

She also explains how their parents kept them grounded, even though they were the original “tabloid kids” and featured on the covers of major movie magazines every week. 

Those covers still live on today. Kathy tells us how her brothers, who are also singers and currently touring with Roger Waters for The Wall tour, found pictures of the Lennon Sisters featured in the Smithsonian Museum with other icons of the ’60s.
