During a year filled with mostly downs, Lynn Tracey was able to rise up above, gather her strength and become a nationally renowned race walker.

She lost her mother, injured her knee and was diagnosed with breast cancer all in one year, but that wasn’t enough to keep Tracey away from a positive outlook on life.

She came back and became America’s best race walker over the age of 50 and set a national record while doing so.

Tracey says her physical fitness and competitive attitude was necessary for her recovery.

She talks with Growing Bolder about her challenging year, her strength and her message to others out there.
