Editors Note: Margery Meyer passed away at the age of 87 on Nov. 25, 2009 after a private 2-year battle with cancer.

You could say that Margery Meyer took to swimming like a fish to water.  After taking up swimming in her mid-60s, she is ranked No. 1 in the nation in four swimming events in the 80-84 age group.

She says she loves distance events because she finds that the longer she swims, the more energy she gets.
