You may not recognize Michael Winslow’s name but you certainly know his voice.

The man of over a thousand sound effects was catapulted to fame by the Police Academy movies and recently he was featured in a memorable Geico commercial. Now, he’s starring in a new movie, National Lampoon’s RoboDoc.

He tells Growing Bolder that following his dream meant risk, rejection and even homelessness on the way to success. But he wouldn’t trade those lessons for anything.  

He says he’s amused that instead of wanting a photo with him, fans always ask him to do some sounds!
