It’s the American dream — you buy a house and pay it off by the time you retire. But this dream can become a nightmare when the debt follows you into your 60s, 70s and beyond. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau reports mortgage debt among homeowners 75 and older has more than doubled and that means that even the smartest, savviest homeowners may fall victim to a scam.

We spoke with Barbara Floyd Jones of NeighborWorks America to talk about how homeowners struggling to pay their mortgage can get FREE help.

For loan modification guidance or to report a scam, call: 1 (888) 995-4673.
