Steve Stover is grateful to be alive.

In the summer of 2011, a stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair during a severe thunderstorm, killing seven people and injuring dozens. When the roof was blown to the ground, Steve was tucked up high under the top of the staging, preparing to operate the spotlight for a concert.

First responders found Steve but left him, thinking he was already dead … but he wasn’t. A moan let the responders know he was alive, but barely.

Steve describes his horrific injuries and the long, painful and arduous road to recovery. He also reveals the song he credits with bringing him out of his coma and explains his powerful connection with and love for music.
