For years, Sharyn Wolf felt trapped. She had a secret that could destroy her career.

Sharyn was one of the nation’s most recognized and celebrated marriage counselors. She’d been on Oprah five times and wrote eight best-selling books on the subject.

Yet her own marriage was failing and she didn’t know how to save it. In her new book, “Love Shrinks: The Woman Who Lied to Oprah,” Sharyn explains how she finally recognized that some marriages can’t be saved — no matter how good the advice is.

She says after fighting so hard to save her own failing marriage she finally realized that she might be a great coach, but her personal game is lacking. Sharyn says she now sees herself like some of the greatest sports coaches who can’t play the game — it doesn’t mean they don’t know how to lead. And Sharyn says she’s still passionate about helping couples save their marriages.

Find out some of her advice for making a marriage stronger and how her own divorce changed the way she counseled her clients.

Plus, Sharyn has advice for people afraid to move on. She’s now 61 and embarks on a adventures — alone — every year. She tells us about her bike trip from Oregon to California. Along the way, she camped out alone every night and went on tough hikes.

Trips like this have made her realize something amazing about herself — she’s fearless and powerful. Find out why she thinks we all need to do one new thing each year that thrills us.
