Tom Willis was born with no arms and no hands and his father died when he was 10 months old, leaving Tom’s mother to raise three children on her own. But Tom has never been satisfied with the hand in life he was dealt.

He says he simply learned to use his feet to do everything. As a child, he endured surgery after surgery, spent a year in a body cast and nearly 6 years in braces.

Somehow, Tom and his siblings all went on to graduate from college, and today’s he’s traveling the country to change people’s hearts and minds about what it means to be disabled.

After he was invited to throw out the first pitch at a San Diego Padres game in 2008, he made it his goal to throw out the first pitch at every Major League Baseball park.

Tom explains his unique way of throwing out pitches and why he endures the physical exhaustion of traveling across the country to speak in schools.
