Zahid “Z” Buttar is a former world-class athlete who is now a world-class coach and businessman. His company not only provides coaching for triathletes but it also stages and promotes some of the best triathlon competitions in the world.

He says we are in the middle of a fitness revolution that’s being driven by Baby Boomers. In fact, Z says people over 40 make up the fastest growing segment of competitors.

He says many have finished raising their families and are looking to re-engage their minds and bodies. He says triathlon is the fastest growing sport in America because anyone of any ability can compete.

He encourages everyone, even people who’ve spent years on a couch, to come give it a try. It’s why he is holding the National Masters Triathlon Championship, to celebrate older competitors who excel and those just trying to get up off the couch.

Need more inspiration? Meet other triathletes on our Triathlon channel.
