Bart Yasso has competed in some of the most spectacular and exotic marathons in the world. As Chief Running Ambassador for Runner’s World magazine, it’s his job to travel the world, seeking out new adventures.

In his new book, “My Life on the Run: The Wit, Wisdom and Insights of a Road Racing Icon,” he describes some of the amazing people he has met on the road and explains why he think running is the most inclusive sport.

Bart says 33 years ago, he went out to run a mile to get into shape and he was instantly hooked. Now, at the age of 54, he competes in a race nearly every weekend somewhere around the world. His passion for running has put him into a very elite club — he’s one of the few people who has run a marathon on all seven continents, including Antarctica.

He shares with us some of the most exciting and arduous marathons he’s competed in and explains why he thinks running is so contagious to millions of people around the world.
