Many of us know someone who made it his or her goal to qualify for the Boston Marathon and then, as tough as that is to do, they actually finish the famed race. Now, imagine someone doing that 48 times in a row!

Ben Beach has run every Boston Marathon since 1968. It’s not only a Boston Marathon record, it’s the longest consecutive streak for any marathon in the world.

He ran his first marathon when he was a Harvard freshman, and today, at 66, he has no plans of hanging up his running shoes.

Ben shares memorable stories from his streak, including his family’s close-call with the finish line bombings in 2013. Plus, he shares a health condition that has made the running much more difficult for him in recent years.

What makes the Boston Marathon so special? Ben describes the uniqueness of this race and why the event keeps pushing him forward.
