Who else is really missing sports right about now? You can include our sports-obsessed team in that group. Growing Bolder’s Bill Shafer, who got his start in the broadcasting industry on the sports desk, checks in with his old pal Chip Caray (Skip’s son and Harry’s grandson). Chip is the TV broadcaster for the Atlanta Braves, so like everyone in baseball, he’s at home and anxiously awaiting the day when the season can start. He talks to GB about the healing power of baseball and how it was crucial to the nation’s morale in the wake of World War I and II and 9/11. Here’s hoping we all hear “PLAY BALL!” again soon.
