Many say they don’t fear cancer the most; they’re more worried about losing what matters the most — their memories.

Alzheimer’s disease and dementia are stealing memories in alarming numbers, and it turns out there may be a simple fix to ward off memory loss — the foods you eat.

Neal Barnard, M.D., is a leading advocate for good nutrition and using nutritional intervention to cure whatever ails us.

He’s an adjunct professor at George Washington University, president of the Cancer Project, president of Physicians Cmte for Responsible Medicine, and the author of 14 books.

In his latest book, “Power Food for the Brain,” Dr. Barnard shows how simple diet changes can make a huge difference in the health of your brain.

He says maybe we don’t have to lose our memories and everything that matters to us if we just learn the proper ways to eat.

He explains what’s happening in the brain when people are developing Alzheimer’s disease and how the everyday foods we all eat are directly related to this process.

Plus, find out how the ways you cook and the tools you use may be affecting your brain cells.

Dr. Barnard explains some of the ways you can reduce excess metals in your body, and recommends which organic fruits and vegetables he’d like to see you start incorporating into your diet.

Once he’s offered his tips for the foods to eat — and those to avoid — he also reveals some of the other surprising sources of memory loss and how you can make changes to boost your brain health.

Click here to visit Dr. Barnard’s website to learn more about his research and to read his blog.
