Today, there are many triathletes over the age of 80 but that wasn’t the case 20 years ago. In fact, there was only one. A man named Ed Root. Root is remembered with an annual run in his hometown of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Or is he? Most runners have no idea who he was.
