When you hear someone is on a diet, chances are the first thing you think of is weight loss.

But there are other kinds of diets we need to think about — health diets. We need to learn how to eat foods that have been proven to increase our long-term health and well-being.

Registered dietician and Growing Bolder’s nutrition expert Dr. Susan Mitchell has five food items you’ll want to add to your diet immediately because they all have something in common — they help reduce inflammation in the body, which is tied to many common diseases, from heart disease, to some cancers, diabetes and stroke. 

Dr. Mitchell has been featured on the Today show, CNN and the Food Network. She is the host of popular podcast, Straight Talk about Eating Smart.

She explains how doctors can measure level of general of inflammation in body with a test and how consistently eating five particular foods will reduce inflammation in the body. As a bonus, that also usually results in weight loss.
